Traveling With Your Pet
Ke Ola Pet Hospital offers comprehensive services for pet owners traveling with their pets. Whether you’re moving between states or planning an international trip, we can help you identify the specific requirements that apply to your situation and help you complete the paperwork for a health certificate to ensure safe travel with your pet.
Ke Ola Pet Hospital is a full-service, family-owned practice with extensive experience in pet health certificates. If you plan on traveling with your furry friend, please call us as soon as you know your travel details so we can review the requirements and restrictions on animal travel into different states and/or countries. Some airlines require pet owners to submit a health certificate within 10 days of travel, so it’s best to start the process as early as possible.
Our friendly team can help you determine exactly what’s needed for traveling with your pet, including:
- Vaccinations – We’ll check to see if your pet is current on vaccinations, especially rabies. Many destinations are rabies-free (Hawai’i, United Kingdom, Australia, etc.) and don’t allow entry to pets without a current rabies vaccination.
- Microchipping – All European Union countries and many other international destinations require proof that your dog or cat has a microchip. Ke Ola Pet Hospital offers microchipping as part of our wellness care services.
- Parasite prevention – Get effective protection for your pet against fleas, ticks, and mosquitos when traveling to certain areas.
